Cumming City Stars Program

Cumming City Stars Program

The City Stars Program was created in the fall of 2014 to recognize excellence and longevity among City of Cumming employees. Staff members with more than 25 years of service were the first to be honored through the program in December of 2014. Workers reaching milestone anniversaries (5, 10, 15, 20, etc. years of service) throughout the calendar year were also honored in December and will be recognized at the end of every year.

A rotation was also established in which each quarter of the year different departments are highlighted. Other city workers from any department, as well as members of the public, are welcome to nominate any city employee who they feel has gone above and beyond in the performance of his or her job duties for the quaterly Star Award.

Departments are recognized on the following schedule:

  • First quarter awards: Administration, Planning & Zoning, and Accounting
  • Second quarter awards: Utilities
  • Third quarter awards: Police and Streets
  • Fourth quarter awards: Fairgrounds, Playhouse, Parks and Recreation, Cumming Aquatic Center

Nominations should include:

  • Nominator’s full name and, if a city employee, their department
  • Nominator’s phone number and/or email address (just in case we have any questions – this won’t be published anywhere!)
  • Full name of nominee and his or her department
  • A description of why this person should be honored

Nominations should be emailed to Crystal Ledford, Public Information Assistant, at cledford@cityofcumming.net. Nominations can also be dropped off at Cumming City Hall or mailed to:
