Cumming Street Department employees attended the May 19 City Council meeting, where they were recognized by Mayor H. Ford Gravitt and City Council.
Employees of the City of Cumming Street Department were honored with a proclamation by Mayor H. Ford Gravitt and City Council during the May 19 meeting.
The proclamation declared the week of May 17-23 as National Public Works Week.
Facilities and infrastructure created and maintained by public works employees are of vital importance to the sustainability of communities and to the health, safety and well-being of individuals.
Mayor Gravitt urged the community to join with City of Cumming leaders and representatives of the American Public Works Association to pay tribute to all public works professionals, engineers, managers and employees during this week.
