Cumming Street Department

The Cumming Streets Department works in beautifying the City, its roads and streets, and the exteriors of all City facilities. Streets Department employees take part in a variety of tasks every week, including landscaping activities such as mowing, weed-eating, and planting. They also handle some minor road projects such as resurfacing and filling of potholes, and ensure street signs are properly placed and maintained.

They also make weekly pick-ups of yard debris from residents who live within the Cumming City Limits. Click here for complete guidelines regarding resident pick-ups. Each year, Streets Department employees pick up and haul away more than 500 tons of residents’ yard debris, and mow grass on approximately 36 miles of street right-of-way two times every week. During winter months, they also help clear ice- and snow-covered roadways and put out deicing products on sidewalks and in parking lots of City buildings to ensure the safety of City customers and employees.
